The Kirtland Development was deposited Soon once the Fruitland Development, and is made of thick greenish shales and siltstones, with just a couple skinny coal beds and white sandstone beds. The lessen part of this development is known as the Hunter Wash Member and it is bounded by a white sandstone bed at its base and a distinctive brown sandstone
